Tanzanian giants Simba Sports Club have announced the acquisition of Ghanaian attacker Augustine Okrah.
The 28-year old has joined the Msimbadzi Reds on a two-year deal from Ghana Premier League outfit Bechem United.
Okrah has joined Simba SC after blistering form for Bechem United in the just ended league season where he helped the club to finish in the top four of the Ghana Premier League.
Simba SC beat off competition from Azam FC and Hearts of Oak to sign the nimble-footed attacker who ended the season as the third highest scorer in the Ghana Premier League with 14 goals.
Okrah netted eighteen goals in all competitions for Bechem United and provided nine assists.
He was very instrumental in the Bechem United set up that finished as the first runners up in the 2021/22 FA Cup, losing the trophy to defending Champions Hearts of Oak.
The former NorthEast United attacker recently had a call-up to the Black Stars squad for 2023 AFCON qualifiers against Madagascar and Central African Republic.
He is expected to strengthen the Simba SC attack for the next season’s CAF Champions League and the Tanzania Premier League campaigns.
Augustine Okrah has formerly played for Asante Kotoko, Liberty Professionals, Bechem United, BK Hacken, Al-Merrikh, Al-Hilal Club and NorthEast United in India.
