Asante Kotoko have released captain Amos Frimpong after eight years of services, Kyfilla.com can exclusively confirm.
The 27-year old has emerged as a transfer target for Guinean side Kaloum Stars following his exploits in Asante Kotoko last season’s CAF Confederation Cup campaign
A statement from Sarfo Duku, the head of Communication, confirming the release of the versatile defender reads “We have released Amos Frimpong. He had an offer from a club in Guinea and asked that management took cognizance to his services to the club for years and allow him to leave.”
Amos Frimpong is expected to leave Ghana for Guinea this weekend to finalize move to the Stade 28 Septembre lads who are augmenting squad for the next league season.
He managed to win eleven trophies since joining the Porcupines in July 2011, winning three Ghana Premier League titles, two FA Cups, two Presidential Cups, two SWAG Cups, one Super Cup and recently the Normalization Committee Special Competition tier 1.
