MTN Ghana has been unveiled as the headline sponsor for all four of Ghana’s national football teams — the Black Stars, Black Queens, Black Satellites, and Black Starlets — in a landmark partnership aimed at boosting the nation’s football ambitions.
The announcement was made on Thursday, 14 August 2025, in Accra, by MTN Ghana Chief Executive Officer, Stephen Blewett, who expressed pride in backing one of the country’s most celebrated sporting institutions.
The sponsorship covers the senior men’s team (Black Stars), senior women’s team (Black Queens), under-20 men’s team (Black Satellites), and under-17 men’s team (Black Starlets).
Blewett described the partnership as a natural extension of MTN’s long-standing commitment to sports development in Ghana, highlighting football’s unique ability to unite the nation.
“Football is a passion that connects the whole country, and MTN is proud to be part of the journey to take our teams to greater heights,” he said, adding that the deal goes beyond funding to inspiring the next generation of Ghanaian footballers.
The agreement will provide vital financial and logistical support to the teams as they prepare for upcoming tournaments and qualifiers.
Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Kurt Okraku, lauded the deal as a “timely boost” that will strengthen the teams’ competitiveness on both continental and global stages.
Coming at a pivotal time for the revival of Ghanaian football, the partnership reflects a growing trend of major brands investing in sports as part of broader corporate social responsibility and brand visibility strategies.
With MTN joining the ranks of top global companies supporting African sports, fans will be eager to see the collaboration translate into success for all four national sides.
