Asante Kotoko have secured their first win in the Ghana Premier League opener after beating Eleven Wonders at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Wonders played their heart out but were succumbed to a 1:0 defeat by Asante Kotoko courtesy Justice Blay’ header.
Kotoko dominated the first half with Songne Yacouba, Augustine Okrah and Emmanuel Gyamfi coming close to the opener.

Midfielder Justice Blay jumped very well in the 2nd minute of the game to connect Patrick Yeboah’s corner kick to wind Kotoko to the lead.
In the 18th minute, Songne Yacouba fed on Collins Ameyaw pass and stroke the ball to the back of the net but the goal could not count as the striker was ruled offside.
Midfielder Collins Ameyaw saw his shot in the 19th minute hitting the crossbar which later went for a goal kick.
Wonders came to the party with Tanko Gausa missing a clear goal chance in the 22nd minute which could have given the visitors tye equalizer.
The first half ended 1:0 in favor of the Porcupine Warriors.
Eleven Wonders returned from the break to create some goal threatening opportunities but players like Andrews Kumah and Tanko Gausa couldn’t restored parity for the Techiman based club.

Kotoko warmed themselves up to dominate the possession for awhile but failed to increase the lead.
In the 53rd minute, Imoro Ibrahim came in for Patrick Yeboah whiles Augustine Okrah was replaced by Naby Keita.
Despite the tactical changes from the two coaches, the scoreline of the game didn’t changed as the game ended 1-0 for Asante Kotoko.
