The Young Pharaohs of Egypt have beaten the Black Meteors of Ghana in the second group game of the ongoing U23 AFCON on Monday evening.
Ghana were succumbed to a 3:2 defeat at the Cairo International Stadium today despite a classy performance from the likes of Yaw Yeboah, Samuel Obeng and others.

Coach Ibrahim Tanko’side started the game on a good note, showing enough determination to get the opener.

Skipper Yaw Yeboah netted the opener for the Black Meteors as early as the 6th minute from a close range to put the West African side to the lead.
Just after the opener, the Egyptians in front of their charged supporters quickly regrouped and started dominating possession, putting an intense pressure on the Ghanaian defence.
Youngster Mustapha Mohammed who was a thorn in the flesh of the Ghanaian defenders snatched parity for the Egyptians by connecting a cross from the left flanks to end the first half.
Ghana returned from the break to dominate the early minutes of the game, resulting to Samuel Obeng’ goal.
The Real Oviedo forward restored Ghana to the lead in the 46th minute by scoring from a defensive blunder.
The Young Pharaohs became angrier and started piling up pressure on the Ghanaian defence which forced the West African side to defend throughout the remaining minutes of the match.

Captain of the Egyptian side Ramadan Sohbi restored parity in the 82nd minute from goalkeeper Kwame Baah’ blunder before Ahmed Rayyan added the match winner for the host nation in the 88th minute to end the match as 3:2 winners.
The victory means, Egypt have moved to the top of the group with 6 points with Cameroon at the second position with 4 points whiles Ghana languish at the third spot with a single point with Mali at the having no point.
