Andre Ayew was the hero of the day when Ghana defeated Sudan 2:0 at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on Thursday evening
Skipper Andre Ayew scored a brace to secure Ghana the three maximum points at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium in the 2021 AFCON qualifiers.
Black Stars head coach CK Akonnor who had to make last minute call-ups due to medical reasons at the team, started the game with Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Richard Ofori in posts with Asante Kotoko right-back Christopher Nettey, Alexander Djiku, John Boye and Abdul Baba Rahman forming the defence.

In the midfield was Emmanuel Lomotey and experienced Afriyie Acquah with Samuel Owusu and Tariq Fosu on the wings whilst Andre Ayew partners his brother Jordan Ayew upfront.
Ghana started the game on a high note with Afriyie Acquah and Emmanuel Lomotey bossing the midfield.
Swansea City deputy skipper and talisman Andre Ayew opened the scores for Ghana in the eighteenth minute from a sumptuous free-kick to push Ghana ahead.

Sudan came back stronger in the game, trying everything possible to get the equalizer but the defence of Ghana made up of John Boye and Alexander Djiku, Christopher Nettey, Abdul Baba Rahman alongside the magnificent Richard Ofori manhandled the Sudanese till the blast of the first half whistle.
Ghana returned from the tunnel looking more desirous of getting another goal to tame down the visitors but Jordan Ayew, Andre Ayew and Samuel Owusu squandered some glaring chances.
Coach CK Akonnor started introducing fresh energy into the game by substituting Al-Ahli starman Samuel Owusu in the 63rd minute for Caleb Ekubah whilst Nicholas Opoku came in for Asante Kotoko right-back and debutant Christopher Nettey.
The introduction of the two players started yielding results for Ghana as the West African side got rejuvenated and startes to pill pressure on the Sudanese.
In the 80th minute, Andre Ayew had a ball from the left side of the Sudan defence, dribbled two opponents and curled the ball perfectly to the net of the Sudanese.

The victory has propelled Ghana to the top of the group C table of the qualifiers with 9 points plus 5 goals.
Ghana will travel to Khartoum for the reverse fixture three days later.
