Ajax FC coach, Erik ten Hag has affirmed that midfielder Kudus Mohammed is not fit to join the Black Stars camp for the ongoing AFCON 2021 in Cameroon.
This comes after the midfielder was excluded in Ajax FC squad for FC Utrecht clash in the Dutch Eredivisie on Sunday.[ads2]
This was after Kudus had trained with the team for the whole week.
Ten Hag explained that Kudus Mohammed was excluded from the squad because he is not fit, adding that it would be strange if Kudus joins Black Stars in Cameroon.[ads3]
“[Not including him in the Ajax squad against Utrecht] already proves what I’ve said all along. He is not [match] fit and it would be strange if he would join the [AFCON],” the Dutch trainer said as quoted by Ghanasoccernet.
Kudus Mohammed was included in Ghana’s final 28-man squad for the prestigious tournament in Cameroon despite being injured.[ads4]
There were reports earlier that Ajax FC have finally given Kudus Mohammed the greenlight to join the Black Stars camp after recovering.
He sustained a rib injury when Ghana played South Africa in 2022 World Cup qualifiers in November last year.
Kudus has since been at the treatment room nursing the injury.[ads5]
