Former Asante Kotoko goalkeeper, Joe Carr says the team will go nowhere in the 2019/20 CAF Champions League campaign.
According to the former Black Stars shot-stopper, Kotoko current squad are not good enough to compete for glory on the African continent and Ghanaians should lower their expectations.
“Kotoko team currently is not as good as it used to be. I believe they should have go in for good players to beef up squad. They should count themselves out of the Champions League”, Carr told Nimde3 FM.
Kotoko have already begun preparations ahead of the Champions League campaign, beating Burkinabe side Rahimo FC in a friendly on last Sunday.
The team as a sign of beefing up squad for the campaign, have already included eleven new signings so far which includes Kwame Baah, Justice Blay, George Abege, Ampem Dacosta, Matthew Kelvin Andoh, Godfred Asiamah, Richard Arthur, Augustine Okrah, Patrick Yeboah, Didi Alexis.
Kotoko will begin their tenth Champions League appearance with a trip to Nigeria to face Kano Pillars on August 10, 2019 before hosting the second leg at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
