Ghana Premier League powerhouse Asante Kotoko have recalled talisman Abdul Fatawu Shafiu from Swedish side Helsinborgs IF.
The 25-year old who was in Sweden to secure a deal with the newly promoted Allsvenkan side has been asked to return to Ghana following an unsuccessful negotiations between the two clubs.
According to the Public Relations Officer for the Porcupines, Kennedy Boakye Ansah, Shafiu has been asked to return to Ghana as soon as possible because the Helsinborg based club want to pay a paltry $15,000 for his services.
“We have asked the player to come back to Ghana because looking at Fatawu’s quality, his pedigree ,value ,you can’t pay $15000 for him.
“Kotoko deserves better,we don’t think the player deserves that so we have asked the player to come back to Ghana”, Boakye Ansah told Oyerepa FM.
Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko are preparing for the next season’s CAF Champions League campaign and the services of the reigning Ghana Football Awards home-based player of the year would be greatly needed.
