Former Asante Kotoko player, George Asare has said the club haven’t paid him as the youth team coach since November, 2020.
Asare and Richard Manu were appointed as coaches for the Asante Kotoko youth team in January, 2020 by then management led by George Amoakoh.
But the two have been relieved off their duties with Johnson Smith and Abdulai Gazalle taking over the youth team after the appointment of Mariano Baretto as the head coach of Asante Kotoko.[ads2]
Speaking on Kumasi-based Pure FM, George Asare has revealed that he has not been paid since November, 2020 and the current management have also refused to pay the monies
“Nana Yaw Amponsah had a meeting with me and Stephen Manu ‘9090’ on Saturday and told us that, he wants us to be Scouts for Kotoko. I asked him why and he said our role as the youth team coach is now going to be handled by Johnson Smith and Gazalle”[ads3]
“I asked him [Nana Yaw Amponsah] to pay us because I have not been paid since November 2020 as the Youth Team coach of Asante Kotoko, Nana Yaw Amponsah told me to go to Dr. Kwame Kyei since he was the one who employed us. He tried to fight me but I left there”
“The incident happened at Coach Kwasi Appiah’s hotel. After I left there, Richard Manu called me and told me that, Nana Yaw Amponsah has cursed me by pouring water into a sink after incantation by using my name. I have reported him to two board members of the club”[ads4]
“The curse was that I will not be a successful with any team in my coaching career. I wasn’t there but that’s what Richard Manu reported to me and I have summoned him”, he narrated…[ads5]
