Asante Kotoko head coach, Mariano Barreto has left the shores of Ghana for his hometown in Portugal.
He departed Ghana for Portugal on Sunday, May 23, 2021 after the team’s league game against WAFA SC where they drew 1:1 at the Lenclay Sports Stadium in Obuasi.
Coach Barreto has left Ghana to Portugal to renew his UEFA Pro Coaching License as the end of the football season in Portugal provides a short window for coaching license renewals.
He is expected to return to Ghana on May 27, 2021 to continue his job at Asante Kotoko.
In the meantime, assistant coach Pedro Manual has been tasked to take over the team and will be at the dugout when Asante Kotoko meet Aduana Stars at the Nana Agyemang Badu II Park in Dormaa.[ads5]
