Ghana Premier League powerhouse, Asante Kotoko have announced the appointment of former Black Stars trainer Mariano Barreto as new head coach.
The Portuguese has joined the Porcupine Warriors after a successful negotiations.[ads2]
Coach Barreto has been unattached after leaving Lithuanian side Stumbers in 2018…
He has joined Asante Kotoko with his own assistant coach and Physical trainer according to a deep source.[ads3]
Coach Barreto has managed clubs like Marítimo, Al-Nassr FC, Naval 1º de Maio, AEL Limassol, Recreativo do Libolo and Al-Qadisiyah.
He also served as assistant coach at Russian sides Dynamo Moscow and Kuban Krasnodar.[ads4]
Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko have been without a substantive since Maxwell Konadu was sacked in December, 2020 with Johnson Smith and Abdulai Gazalle currently serving on interim basis.[ads5]
