A late change has been made to the Ghana national team squad ahead of their upcoming international friendlies, with Ransford Yeboah Königsdörffer called up to camp in Vienna.
The Hamburger SV forward replaces Inaki Williams and Brandon Thomas-Asante, who have both withdrawn from the squad after sustaining injuries during recent club assignments.
Williams picked up a knock while featuring for Athletic Bilbao, despite completing the match, with subsequent assessments ruling him out of the trip to Austria. Thomas-Asante, on the other hand, was forced off in the second half of Coventry City’s 3-0 victory over Swansea City after suffering a knock.
Königsdörffer has already arrived in Vienna and is expected to train with the squad as preparations intensify for the friendly fixtures. His inclusion offers an additional attacking option for the technical team as they fine-tune the squad ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The 22-year-old has been a consistent performer for Hamburg this season, scoring four goals in 26 appearances in the German campaign, and will be keen to make an impression at international level.
