President Akufo-Addo has finally given the greenlight for a sum of $45,000 to be paid to legendary Ghanaian boxer D.K Poison.
This is an amount the Ghanaian government is owing the legendary boxer which dates to over four decades.

It would be recalled that D.K Poison in 1976, loaned to the government of Ignatius Kutu Acheampong an amount of $45,000 out of his purse of $75,000 from his second title defence against Japanese Shig Fukuyama for the purchase of some commodities for the state.
Forty-four years on, all attempts to reclaim the money from the state have proved futile despite promises by past governments to ensure he was reimbursed with the amount owed him.

This led to D.K Poison visiting President Akufo-Addo last year to remind him of the loan.
President Akufo-Addo promised to resolve the issue by paying the loan to the former world champion.
