Asante Kotoko have appointed Johnson Smith as the interim head coach.
Coach Johnson Smith has been handed the top position on interim basis following the sacking of coach Maxwell Konadu.[ads2]
Maxwell Konadu has been fired by the management of Asante Kotoko following their painful defeat to Great Olympics at the Accra Sports Stadium last Thursday.
Johnson Smith who was the second assistant coach has now been elevated to the position of interim head coach in the meantime.[ads3]

“Coach Johnson Smith has been appointed to lead the team in the interim”, a statement from Asante Kotoko reads.

This means coach Johnson Smith will be at the dugout when Asante Kotoko host Sudanese side Al Hilal in the CAF Champions League prelims at the Accra Sports Stadium.[ads4]
Coach Johnson Smith joined Asante Kotoko in October last year as the assistant coach after incredible season with Karela United where he was the head coach.
He was demoted to a position as second assistant coach when Maxwell Konadu was appointed the head coach who brought in his assistant Abdul Gazalle.[ads5]
