It ended in a goalless at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on Saturday evening when Ghana hosted neighboring country Ivory Coast in a friendly game.
The titanic encounter was to prepare both sides for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers and the African Cup of Nations tournament in Cameroon.
Prior to the game, Ghana had lost to Morocco by a goal to nil at Rabat with the Black Stars hoping to tame the Ivorians to boost confidence.
The Ivorian had also beaten Burkina Faso in the last friendly and were eager to smack Ghana to make a point.
The first half ended goalless with both sides not creating enough chances with the two goalkeepers in a holiday in the first forty-five minutes.
The second half saw the two sides bringing in a different energy with Franck Kesse and Thomas Partey battling it out for the midfield supremacy.
Kudus Mohammed was difficult to handle by the Ivorians, creating spaces for Ghana as well as holding on to the ball and really showed his dribbling qualities.
Ghana coach CK Akonnor brought in fresh energy by introducing to the game former Asante Kotoko striker Kwame Opoku, Joel Fameyeh, Abdul Ganiyu to strengthen the team.
Manchester United youngster Amad Diallo was also impressive and even created some changes for the Ivorians in the last minute of the game.
Despite efforts from the two sides, the game ended in a goalless with goalkeeper Lawrence Ati Zigi saving Ghana at the last minute by preventing Allan Max Gradel free-kick from entering the back of the net.[ads5]
