Former Hearts of Oak midfield dynamo Malik Akowuah has expressed his readiness to play for Asante Kotoko when the opportunity comes.
The midfielder who is currently unattached believes should Kotoko approach him, he won’t hesitate to put pen to paper for the Porcupines.
Before joining Hearts of Oak in 2016 from Medeama Sporting Club, Malik Akowuah was a transfer target for Asante Kotoko but he ditched them for their bitterest rivals.
“As a player you can’t choose some clubs that you will only play for, as a profession it needs to be treated professionally, negotiations between you and a club is what would want you play for”, he said.
“I chose to play for Hearts of Oak due to megotiations but that is not to say I don’t like Asante Kotoko SC or wouldn’t want to play for them”. I’m willing to play for Kotoko, why not if they approach me. We are all working so when the opportunity comes sure I will play”.
The former Medeama Sporting Club talisman made this known during an interview on Kumasi-based Wontumi TV.
Malik Akowuah was an integral member of the Hearts of Oak squad that lost the FA Cup final to Asante Kotoko in 2017.[ads5]
