It would be recalled that in March 2020, Parliament passed into law the Narcotics Control Commission Bill 2019, legalizing the growing of some cannabis for health purposes.
This empowers the Minister for Interior in consultation with other institutions like the Ministry of Health to grant licenses for the production of cannabis of not more than 0.3 percent Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) for industrial and medicinal purposes.

Speaking on Accra-based Hitz FM, Stonebwoy believes the government has seen the benefit the product will give the nation hence legalizing it for medicinal and commercial purposes.

“Once the government that regulates the use of marijuana has legalized the cultivation because it knows the purpose and why somethings have to happen. The government will not just commercialize the export of marijuana, they did it because they know how viable it is so as a private businessman if I look at it and if it’s viable why not?” he stated.
