Ghana coach, Milovan Rajevac has said he will never leave his position as the Black Stars coach despite the team’s shambolic display in the AFCON 2021.
Ghana has been eliminated from the AFCON ongoing in Cameroon after losing to Comoros Islands 3:2 in the last group game of the tournament.
It was an embarrassing night for Ghana at Garouha as Comoros booted the four-time AFCON champions from the tournament.[ads2]
Speaking to the media after a shocking defeat to Comoros, Milovan Rajevac stated that he will stay as the Black Stars head coach and lead the country in the upcoming World Cup qualifiers scheduled for March, 2022.
According to the Serbian tactician, even though Ghana has been eliminated from the AFCON, the West African country have a stronger team capable of qualifying for the World Cup in Qatar next year.[ads3]
“I will stay and lead Ghana in the World Cup qualifiers in March. I believe we have a team that can become stronger and get to the World Cup.”
This comes the first time since 2006 that Ghana has been booted out of the AFCON group stage.[ads4]
Ghana shockingly finished last in a group of Morocco, Gabon and Comoros with only a point after three matches.
The victory becomes Comoros’ first ever win in the AFCON who were making their debut in the tournament.[ads5]
