Hearts of Oak coach Samuel Boadu has responded to what it seems like a demeaning comment made against him by the deputy board chairman of the club Nyaho-Nyaho Tamakloe.
The former Ghana FA boss was on record to have said that Hearts of Oak will need an experienced head coach for Africa next season and not Samuel Boadu who has won five trophies since joining the club last two seasons including the Ghana Premier League title which eluded the club for many years.
“I have a problem with Hearts of Oak’s technical direction of the club, most of the players appear to be indisciplined in the team and are either aged or lazy,” Dr. Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe told Accra-based Angel FM.
“I strongly have my doubt that the technical team can do well in Africa. Hearts of Oak is a big club and must always be in the hand of a big coach like Attiquayefio.
“I believe the current technical team can’t carry us far,” he added.
His comment on Angel FM in Accra was welcomed with huge criticisms by supporters and sympathizers of the club.
But speaking in relation to the comment by the astute statesman, Samuel Boadu indicated that the comment was to straightened him for the bigger task next season after a shambolic campaign in the just ended league season.
“Dr Nyaho Tamakloe is like a father to me, so no one should think he was attacking me but he was straightening me to sit up.I see nothing bad about his comment. The technical team is young and still learning”, Boadu said on Asempa FM.
On whether he will need a technical director to assist him ahead of next season’s CAF Confederation Cup campaign, Samuel Boadu said, “I see myself as the best coach in Ghana and I don’t need a Technical Director.”
“My contract ends in Sept 2023. I’m motivated to develop players and win lots of trophies with Hearts of Oak just like other coaches did. I will sit with my technical team and discuss whether we need technical help as we head to Africa.”
He added that, “I’m from a Christian home. My players only wave flowers prior to games just to de-motivate teams. There is nothing in it. I’ve never been juju in my life.”
