Ghana skipper Andre Ayew has said he has been unwell for the past two days hence his unimpressive performance in AFCON opener against Morocco.
Ghana was beaten 1:0 by Morocco in a cagey AFCON 2021 game with Sofiane Boufal scoring the only goal to give the North African country the maximum points.[ads2]
Many have criticized the performance of the Black Stars team including the skipper Andre Ayew who underperformed greatly.
Speaking after the game, the former Swansea City attacker revealed reasons behind his shambolic performance yesterday in Yaounde.[ads3]
“I’ve not been feeling well for the past two days, but I wanted to play. My colleagues wanted me on the field so I did everything to be there. It’s football and we are disappointed to concede in the last minute.”
Meanwhile, Ghana will face Gabon in second game of the group stage on Friday before playing Comoros in the last game.[ads5]
