The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has increased the women’s AFCON to twelve teams.
The tournament was initially participated by eight teams in every two years.
However, CAF President Ahmad Ahmad after a meeting on Wednesday at Cairo has confirmed the expansion of the teams to twelve.

The decision will now give room for countries to participate in the competition which as Nigeria’s Super Falcons as the current champions.
