As expected, Asante Kotoko had the most players (8) with Hearts of Oak boating of only three players…
Razak Abalora (GK): The former Azam FC goalkeeper has been spectacular since joining Asante Kotoko. He has actually beaten goalkeeper Felix Annan for the number one spot considering his form so far this season. He has been consistent and super in poles against Hearts of Oak’s Richard Attah and Richmond Ayi.
Christopher Nettey (RB): Though Larry Sumaila and Fatawu Mohammed have been good in the Hearts of shirt this season, Nettey has been consistent for Asante Kotoko, playing every single game this season.[ads3]
Raddy Ovuoka (LB): Arguably the best left-back in the country this season, the Congolese beat Imoro Ibrahim and Patrick Asmah of Asante Kotoko considering his scintillating form for the Phobians so far this season.
Abdul Ganiyu (CB): He has been solid and consistent at the back of defence for Asante Kotoko this season unlike Mohammed Alhassan and Robert Addo Sowah who haven’t find there feet this season. He is usually calm at the defence and makes strikers difficult to outsmart him.
Yusif Mubarik (CB): Yes Asante Kotoko have their two center backs in the combined eleven because of consistency. Mubarik and Ganiyu have been the safest pair of defence for coach Abdulai Gazalle and of course deserve to be in the combined eleven.
Frederick Ansah Botchway (DM): He has been super for Hearts of Oak this season. He was solid under Kosta Papic and now Samuel Nii Noi. Botchway didn’t had a better start this season but has been incredible in the last few matches he has played for the Phobians. He definitely deserve to be in the combined eleven.
Abdul Latif Anabila (DM): He is like the Xavi Hernandez in the Asante Kotoko team, a very good passer of the ball whose single pass split defenders and makes them found wanting. He was very tough for ES Setif to contain during the CAF Confederation Cup second leg in Algeria and definitely deserve to be in the team.[ads4]
Fabio Gama (CM): Though he joined Asante Kotoko very late, the Brazilian has cemented his position in the team and has become the fans favorite. Very skillful, intelligent when with the ball and with a good vision.
Emmanuel Gyamfi (LW): The deputy skipper of Asante Kotoko has been scintillating in the team last matches. He started very slowly but has warmed himself to the team very well. Gyamfi is among the combined eleven.
Patrick Razak (RW): He is having an incredible form lately and always a tormentor when in his form and definitely have to be in the eleven considering his late form.
