Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club PLC has officially announced the reassignment of former head coach Aboubakar Ouattara to the position of Special Advisor to the Board of Directors.
The announcement, made in a club statement released on Monday, marks a shift in Ouattara’s role at the club following his stint as head coach. According to the statement, Ouattara will now serve as a key strategic figure, working closely with the Board on special assignments and duties aimed at advancing the club’s long-term objectives.
“The Board of Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club PLC has re-assigned Aboubakar Ouattara from the role of Head Coach to Special Advisor to the Board of Directors,” the statement read.
In his new capacity, Ouattara is expected to bring his wealth of experience and deep understanding of the club’s sporting philosophy to support executive decision-making and technical development from behind the scenes. The Board extended its congratulations and expressed optimism about a productive collaboration that could help propel the Phobians to new heights.
“We take this opportunity to express our appreciation for the professionalism and innovation Aboubakar Ouattara brought to the senior team during his term as Head Coach,” the statement added.
Ouattara’s reassignment comes as part of broader structural changes at Hearts of Oak, aimed at strengthening the club’s administrative and technical departments in preparation for the upcoming season. While fans may have expected a different outcome on the technical bench, the club’s move signals its intent to retain the former coach’s expertise within its leadership framework.
