Ghana Premier League heavyweight, Hearts of Oak have announced to engage Nigerien top-flight side Sahel Sporting Club in an international friendly.

The Rainbow side as part of preparations towards the upcoming league season in Ghana, have scheduled to play the Niamey based club in a friendly on Friday, October 4, 2019 at Pobiman.

The friendly will also prepare coach Kim Grant’ side ahead of the 2019 GA Homowo Cup which has been rescheduled October 13 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Sahel Sporting Club is a Niger Premier League giant founded in 1974, winning the Premiership title and the FA Cup for 13 times.

The Niamey based club with Zakaryaou as their current head coach, have made three appearances in the CAF Champions League with their last time in 2010 where they were eliminated in the preliminary round.
They have also made four appearances in the CAF Confederation Cup with the last time in 2012 where they were booted out in the preliminary round.
