Hearts of Oak are said to be in advance talks to sign Bechem United midfielder Francis Twene.
The talented midfielder could be joining the Phobians before the commencement of the 2021/22 league season.
Hearts of Oak are augmenting squad for the next season’s CAF Confederation Cup after winning the FA Cup at the expense of Bechem United in the final at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium weeks ago.
And it is believed that Hearts of Oak have deemed Twene as perfect addition to the midfield despite the presence of Abdul Aziz Nurudeen.
Francis Twene was one of the best midfielders in the just ended league season where he formed a solid partnership with Latif Anabila in the Bechem United midfield.
His contribution to the Bechem United set up enabled the team to finish fourth on the Ghana Premier League and reached the final of the FA Cup but lost to Hearts of Oak.
Twene started his with the youth side of Berekum Chelsea, and was promoted into the senior team in 2016.
He made his debut on 26 June 2016, in a 1–0 loss to Wa All Stars [now Legon Cities] and went ahead to make 5 league appearances in his debut season.
Over the next two seasons, being the 2017, 2018 seasons, he made one appearance each season.
His breakout season came during the 2019 GFA Normalization Special Competition, which he played 11 out of 12 league matches and scored his debut goal in a 3–1 loss to his future club Bechem United on May 15, 2019.
The following season, the 2019–20 season, he played in 4 league matches before the league was cancelled due to restrictions from the outbreak of the COVID-19 in Ghana.
