The Chief Executive Officer of Sekondi Hasaacas, Samuel Arbuah has disclosed that both Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak were interested in signing Justus Torsutsey.
According to Mr. Arbuah, he received calls from Hearts of Oak board chairman Togbe Afede and Asante Kotoko CEO Nana Yaw Amponsah who were willing to secure the services of the deadly goal poacher at any cost.
He explained to Takoradi-based Ahoto FM in an interview monitored by Kyfilla.com on Thursday, November 18, 2021 that this was after the striker who double as a military officer had shot to fame at WAFA SC with an incredible performance in the Ghana Premier League.[ads4]
“As for Torsutsey (Justus), I had calls from Kotoko (Nana Yaw Amponsah) and even Togbe Afede (Hearts of Oak board chair) but I told them the player has been transferred to WAFA and Hasaacas don’t have the economic rights to start negotiations with a different club, so I directed them to deal with WAFA directly. I’m proud of him and I know he will reach very far in his career”, Mr. Arbuah said.
Justus Torsutsey joined WAFA SC midway of the Ghana Premier League last season from division one league outfit Sekondi Hasaacas.
He was signed by WAFA to replace Daniel Lomotey who was transferred to Tunisia giants EE Setif after stellar form in the Ghana Premier League.[ads1]
Despite joining WAFA in the middle of the season, the former Ebusua Dwarfs attacker scored six goals to help the Sogakope-bases club placed third on the league log last season.
His spectacular form for WAFA earned him a call up to the Black Stars B.
