Ghanaian players abroad: Goals, assists and key appearances across Europe and beyond

Ghanaian footballers were in action across several leagues over the weekend, delivering notable performances, crucial contributions and valuable minutes for their respective clubs.

In England, Antoine Semenyo featured in his first Manchester derby as Manchester City fell 2–0 to rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford. In the Championship, Jordan Ayew and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku were both involved as Leicester City suffered a 2–1 defeat away to Coventry City, a match that also saw Thomas Asante-Brandon return from injury to make a brief appearance for the hosts. Further down the leagues, Andy Yiadom played for Reading in their 3–1 League One loss to Leyton Orient, while Albert Adomah came off the bench to help Walsall secure a 3–1 victory over Tranmere in League Two.

In Spain, Inaki Williams saw 32 minutes of action for Athletic Bilbao in their narrow 3–2 defeat to Mallorca. In Cyprus, Clifford Aboagye played 85 minutes for Anorthosis in their 2–0 loss to Omonia, while Clinton Doudou made a short appearance as Apollon Limassol beat APOEL 2–1, a game that also featured David Abagna for the losing side.

In Israel, Kwabena Owusu featured for Maccabi Bnei Raina in a draw against SC Ashdod, a match that also involved Ghanaian trio Hayford Boahen, Emmanuel Agyei and Eugene Ansah. Matthew Cudjoe impressed with 88 minutes of action for Sakhnin in their 2–1 win over Netanya.

In Portugal, Sabit Abdulai played 85 minutes as Alverca secured a 2–1 victory over Moreirense.

In Saudi Arabia, Christopher Baah-Bonsu delivered an outstanding performance, providing two assists in Al Qadsiah’s emphatic 5–1 win over Al Hazem.

In Turkey, Nicholas Opoku earned strong ratings for his performance with Kasimpasa despite a goalless draw against Antalyaspor, while Jerome Opoku played the full match for Istanbul Basaksehir in their 2–1 victory over Karagumruk.
