Ghana coach Otto Addo has handed an invitation to goalkeeper Richard Ofori for 2022 World Cup playoff games against Nigeria.
The astounding goalkeeper who has just returned from a long-term injury has been given the invitation for the two crucial games later this month
This was confirmed by Orlando Pirates head coach, Mandla Ncikazi, after CAF Confederation Cup game against Royal Leopards last Sunday.
“Ofori is a top professional, Ghana selected him without playing a game. I was surprised.” Ncikazi told the South Africa media.
“You could just see the confidence he brings and breathes around the defence and I’m sure he is going to lessen the leaking of goals at Pirates because more than the fact that we are not scoring we are also letting in goals and I’m sure it’s going to improve.” He added.
Ofori has been out of action for the past six months but made a return in Orlando Pirates 3:0 victory in the CAF Confederation Cup yesterday.
Ghana will host long-standing rival Nigeria at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on March 25, 2022 for the first leg of the World Cup playoff before the reverse fixture on March 29 at the Mashood Abiola Sports Stadium in Abuja…
