The Algerian Football Federation has lined up an international friendly with Ghana in Qatar.
The match forms part of preparations for both countries ahead of next year’s AFCON in Cameroon.[ads2]
The two countries will pitch camp in Qatar for a pre-AFCON 2021 training before heading to Cameroon for the prestigious tournament in the continent.
“Algeria will hold its pre-AFCON2021 training camp in Doha, Qatar, with two friendly matches scheduled there in preparation for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon: They will play Gambia and Ghana. The team will fly directly from Qatar to Douala, Cameroon for AFCON 2021,”Algerian sports portal DZ Foot wrote on Twitter.[ads3]
Meanwhile, Algeria are currently unbeaten in their 33 matches in all competitions and clear favourites to defend their title when the tournament begins in January.
The last meeting between the Ghana and the Fennec Foxes was in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations where Ghana won 1-0 in the end with legendary striker Asamoah Gyan scoring the only goal.[ads5]
