Ghana has been drawn in Group A of the 2023 WAFU Zone B U-20 Boys Cup of Nations tournament which will be played in Ivory Coast from July 7-21, 2023.
The draw, held at the WAFU Zone B headquarters in Abidjan on Monday, had the Black Satellites of Ghana paired in a group of Ivory Coast, Niger and Burkina Faso.
Led by former Hearts of Oak coach Samuel Boadu, the Black Satellites have already started preparations, and will have to put in their best performance to advance to the next round and compete for the championship.
As the only African country to win the U-20 World Cup, Ghana is going into the tournament as huge favorite despite failing to qualify for the last edition.
Meanwhile, Nigeria considered as one of the favorites to win the championship have been drawn in Group B alongside Benin and Togo.
