Ghana defender Abdul Baba Rahman is doubtful for the country’s World Cup playoff games against Nigeria later this month.
The left-back who has been a core figure in Ghana’s campaign to book a ticket to the 2022 World Cup tournament in Qatar has been injured.
Rahman has been at the treatment room after sustaining an injury in Reading FC game against Preston North End in the English Championship somewhere in February this year.
Confirming the player’s likely absence in Black Stars games against Nigeria in a press conference, Reading FC coach Paul Ince said, “Rahman is two or three weeks away. Halilovic is maybe another week or so away. It’s tough because these players have been out a while and we need to get them back up to scratch.”
Ghana will host Nigeria on March 25, 2022 before the reverse fixture at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja on March 29.
