Ghana head coach Milovan Rajevac has named a 30-man squad for AFCON 2021 in Cameroon.
Ghana will be hoping to finally end the 38 years of not winning the AFCON trophy after several attempts.[ads2]
Coach Rajevac has named the provisional squad to camping in Qatar before pruning down the squad for the main tournament in Cameroon next year.
Five locally-based players have been included in the squad which comprise of goalkeeper Richard Attah (Hearts of Oak), Philemon Baffour (Dreams FC), David Abagna (RTU), Fatawu Issahaku (Dreams FC) and Maxwell Abbey Quaye (Great Olympics).[ads3]
AS Roma youngster Felix Afena-Gyan has been included in the squad after rejecting an initial invitation during the world cup qualifiers.
Ghana will open camp in Doha, Qatar on December 23. While in the Asian country, they will play three preparatory games.[ads4]
Ghana has been pitched in a group with Morocco, Gabon and Comoros.
Ghana will open the AFCON 2021 campaign against Morocco before facing Gabon on January 14 an wrap it up against debutants Comoros.
