Tariq Lamptey has caught the attention of the Ghana FA following his spectacular performance for Brighton & Hove Albion in their 1:3 defeat to Chelsea in the English Premier League.
Speaking on Kumasi-based Nhyira FM, George Amoakoh admitted that, Ghana will not find it easy convincing the full-back to play for its senior male national team.
“The national team’s department is making serious efforts to get his parents and the boy to play for Ghana”, Mr. Amoakoh said.

“But it’s not going to be easy. I don’t want to sound like it’s impossible, but it’s not going to be easy.
“Most of the [Ghanaian] players born in Europe, if you want to entice them to come and play for Ghana, it is very difficult. They mostly aspire to play for their country of birth or host countries. Even their parents don’t opt for their children playing for Ghana”, he added.
Tariq Lamptey is born to a Ghanaian parent and eligible to play for the Black Stars.
