Ghana Premier giants Asante Kotoko managed to defeat lower tier side Bekwai Youth Football Academy in the FA Cup round 64.
The Porcupines played as visitors to BYFA at the Nana Gyamfi Park in Bekwai on Wednesday afternoon.
Coach Mariano Barreto’s charges defeated BYFA 0:2 to seal a qualification to the next round of the competition.
Fabio Gama and Emmanuel Keyekeh netted the two goals for Asante Kotoko to secure them victory over BYFA.
The win comes as a morale boost to Kotoko ahead of league game against regional rivals AshantiGold Sporting Club this weekend.
Kotoko are hoping to defeat AshantiGold to leapfrog bitterest rivals and league leaders Hearts of Oak at the summit of the league table.[ads5]
