Asante Kotoko towering defender Abdul Ganiyu is expected to undergo a knee surgery in Germany, Kyfilla.com understands.
The 22-year old sustained a knee injury during Asante Kotoko training session at the Adako Jachie training complex last week.
Kyfilla.com can exclusively report that, management of Asante Kotoko have planned to airlift the defender to undergo a knee surgery in Germany.
Ganiyu has already been ruled out for the rest of the season and will not be available for selection during the team’s CAF Champions League campaign.
He joined the Porcupines from fellow Premier League outfit Karela United last season and has become a key member in the Kotoko set up.
Ganiyu featured in all Asante Kotoko matches in the last season’s CAF Confederation Cup campaign and was very influential for the Kumasi based side in the just ended NC Special Competitions.
Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko are preparing for the next season’s CAF Champions League campaign and will face Ivorian superhouse Societe Omnisports in a friendly on Wednesday.
