Ethiopia Football Federation Secretary, Bahiru Tilahun has quashed reports that the Federation is in talks with former Asante Kotoko defender Wahab Adams to switch nationality and play for the country at the international level.
The 28-year old confirmed in a radio interview that talks to switch nationality and play for the East African country at the international level has commenced.
Adams who currently plays for Ethiopian outfit Wolkite City FC after leaving Asante Kotoko disclosed that the Ethiopian Football Federation are determined to convince him to switch nationality and play for the country.
But Mr Bahiru Tilahun has denied it, stating that the Federation has never made any decision like that and has labelled it as a joke of the era.
“I saw from some posts that this guy [Wahab Adams] said as Ethiopian Football Federation approached him to play for the Ethiopian National team. This is really a joke of the era. Never happened, will never Happen. This is an insulting for us”, Tilahun posted on Twitter.
