The world’s richest man, Elon Musk, announced his resignation from the Trump administration on his social media platform X.
“As my scheduled time as a special government employee comes to an end, I would like to thank President Donald Trump for the opportunity to reduce wasteful spending,” Musk wrote on X.
“The DOGE mission will strengthen over time,” he added. The White House started “removing” Musk as a special government employee on Wednesday night, according to the BBC.
Musk’s departure was not unexpected, but it comes a day after he criticized the key legislative component of Trump’s agenda.
