Eight teams have confirmed their participation in the maiden edition of the Western Region Invitational Tournament.
The tournament, which is being envisaged to be a pre-seasonal event, is an initiative of the Western regional Sports Committee headed by the DCE of Wassa East, Honorable Wilson Arthur who double as the President and Bankroller of Division One League side Skyy FC.
Kyfilla.com can exclusively confirm that two premiership teams as well as five division one clubs and one division two outfit have confirmed to partake in the competition.
The teams per Kyfilla.com reliable source are Medeama Sporting Club, Karela United, Sekondi Hasaacas, Proud United, Skyy FC, Samartex FC, Nzema Kotoko and Sekondi Eleven Wise.
Kyfilla.com is reliably informed that, the eight teams would be group into two for the competition with each group made up of four teams.
Group A will be made up of Karela United, Hasaacas, Eleven Wise and Skyy FC whiles group B will be made up of Medeama Sporting Club, Nzema Kotoko, Proud United and FC Samartex.
The group A teams will be hosted at the Sekondi Sports Stadium in Essipong whilst the group B teams will play at the Samartex Park in Samraboi.
Kyfilla.com can exclusively report that, each club will pocket a participation fee of GH¢5000, with the official launch slated for August 26.
