Esso’s release has sparked unheated argument among the Hearts of Oak faithfuls since he was one of their best players in the just cancelled 2019/20 league season.
Speaking in an interview on Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM, Danjuma Kuti has urged management of Hearts of Oak to re-sign Joseph Esso for the upcoming league season.

According to the Nigerian striker, Esso is exceptional upfront and he wants to partner the former Ebusua Dwarfs attacker at Hearts of Oak in the 2020/2021 season.
“He [Joseph Esso] is very good player and I was hoping to play alongside with him”

“I saw him [Esso] the other time I came to Ghana where he even scored. He is a very strong and good supporting striker. From what I saw, he can help me score more goals. They should try to keep him if possible, i would love to play with him”, Kuti added.
