Accra Hearts of Oak have announced the elevation of Daniel Kodie to the senior team’s technical setup ahead of the upcoming football season.
Kodie, a long-serving member of the Phobian family, has been appointed as Assistant Welfare Manager to Henry Martey, bringing his deep connection with the club and wealth of experience to a more prominent role.
Once a rising star on the pitch for Hearts of Oak, Kodie’s playing career was tragically curtailed by a career-threatening injury. The club stood firmly by him during that difficult period, fully sponsoring his surgery in South Africa. Though his time as a player ended prematurely, his commitment to the club never wavered.
After recovering, Kodie transitioned into a backroom role and was reassigned to Auroras FC, the club’s youth side, where he served as Assistant Welfare Manager. There, he played a crucial role in nurturing young talents, offering not just logistical support but also sharing his football knowledge and tactical input with the technical team.
His promotion to the senior side underscores his loyalty, discipline, and strong understanding of the club’s culture and ethos. Kodie is expected to bring the same passion and dedication that defined his work with the youth team into his new position with the senior squad.
