Popular Ghanaian actor Kwadwo Nkansah has been granted bail by the Asokore Mampong District Court.
He was arrested by the Manhyia Divisional Command’s Motor Traffic and Transport Department and later bailed GH¢50,000 with two sureties.
Shortly after being released from the hospital on Monday, June 3, Lil Win was arrested. A terrible tragedy involving the actor that claimed the life of a 3-year-old boy was the catalyst for his arrest. Lil Win was travelling to the opening of his latest movie, “A Country Called Ghana,” when the accident occurred.
Lil Win was speeding and travelling in the incorrect lane when the collision occurred, according to police reports.
As a result, he faces charges of careless injury and reckless driving. The prosecution stressed that their investigation is still ongoing and demanded that Lil Win be made available for additional questioning whenever needed.
They mentioned that the actor’s post-accident health problems had caused delays in the lawsuit. Lil Win’s attorney, Margaret Adjei-Twum, argued in favour of bail, citing the need for medical attention for injuries incurred in the collision, including internal bleeding.
She promised the court that Lil Win’s personality will not affect legal proceedings.
To allow for additional hearings, the court has postponed the case until June 27, 2024.
