Asante Kotoko have announced that four of their players and four officials have tested positive for the novel Coronavirus.
This was after a test were carried on the team at the Kotoka International Airport in Accra upon their arrival from Sudan.[ads2]
According to the statement from the club, the eight who have contracted the devastating disease have been quarantined with the rest to resume training ahead of their Ghana Premier League games.
Asante Kotoko traveled to Sudan for their CAF Champions League preliminary round game against Al Hilal but the match was called off due to Coronavirus issues.[ads3]
Reports were that about seven player of Asante Kotoko tested positive which the Ghana Premier League giant failed to raise fifteen players for the match thus losing the encounter as per CAF regulations.

Asante Kotoko will now face Algerian side ES Setif in the CAF Confederation Cup playoffs to battle for a ticket to the group stages of the competition.[ads4]
Kotoko will host the first leg at the Accra Sports Stadium in Ghana before the reverse fixture in Setif far away in Algeria.
