Ghanaian winger Christopher Bonsu Baah is on the verge of completing a high-profile transfer to Saudi Pro League club Al Qadsiah FC, in what is expected to be one of KRC Genk’s most lucrative outgoing transfers in recent years.
The 20-year-old, who joined the Belgian outfit from Norway’s Sarpsborg in 2023, has caught the attention of Al Qadsiah, with negotiations reportedly at an advanced stage. Although the deal is not yet finalised, sources confirm that Bonsu Baah is expected to travel to Saudi Arabia within the next 24 hours to complete the move.
While the transfer fee remains undisclosed, it is believed that Genk will receive a substantial sum significantly higher than the €5.2 million they paid to acquire the promising forward just two years ago.
Bonsu Baah, who is under contract with Genk until the summer of 2028, has become an important figure for the Limburg-based club, amassing 90 appearances in all competitions, scoring five goals and registering seven assists.
Insiders also suggest that the move to Al Qadsiah may serve as a springboard for further growth, with plans in place for Bonsu Baah to potentially return to European football after a season or two in Saudi Arabia with age and potential still on his side.
Should the deal go through, it will mark a major milestone in the young Ghanaian’s career and continue the trend of African talents making big moves to the ever-growing Saudi top flight.
