The Asante Kotoko players have reportedly been settled their outstanding bonuses after a protest in Sudan.
The twenty-two (22) players of Asante Kotoko currently in Sudan for CAF Champions League game against Al Hilal boycotted training in demand of their unpaid bonuses.[ads2]
According to reports, the players were yet to received their bonuses due them for winning their Ghana Premier League matches against Legon Cities FC and Dreams FC.
The management of the Ghana Premier League heavyweight were also owing the players bonuses for eliminating Nouadhibou FC from the CAF Champions League.[ads3]
These led to the players’ refusal to show up for the mandatory training at the venue set for the cagey encounter on Wednesday.
Few hours after the protest, latest media reports indicate that management member Abena Dentaa has landed at the camp of the team with cash to settle the unpaid bonuses of the players.[ads4]
Asante Kotoko lost the first leg of the CAF Champions League second preliminary round by 0:1 at the Accra Sports Stadium to Al Hilal and have to return the deficit on Wednesday before securing a ticket to the group stages of the competition.[ads5]
