Asante Kotoko have reportedly written to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to maintain Accra Sports Stadium as their home venue.
The Porcupine Warriors wanted the GFA to move their CAF Champions League matches to the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium in Tamale due to congestion at the Accra Sports Stadium.[ads2]
The Accra Sports Stadium is currently being used by four other premier league clubs including Hearts of Oak, Legon Cities FC, Great Olympics and Inter Allies which propelled Asante Kotoko to request for a change of venue.[ads3]
But Kumasi-based Light FM is reporting that, Asante Kotoko have made a u-turn, pleading with the Ghana FA to maintain the Accra Sports Stadium as their home venue for the CAF Champions League.
This means Asante Kotoko will host Al Hilal from Sudan in the CAF Champions League preliminary round at the Accra Sports Stadium instead of the initial Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium in Tamale.[ads5]
