Ghana Premier League giant, Asante Kotoko have been declared 2:0 losers in CAF Champions League game against Al Hilal in Sudan.
Asante Kotoko were to face Al Hilal in second leg of the CAF Champions League preliminary round on Wednesday but the game was called off.[ads2]
The cagey encounter was called off when as many as seven players of the Ghana Premier League heavyweight contracted the novel Coronavirus.
The CAF regulations governing the Champions League state that should a team failed to raise 11 players plus 4 substitutes, the team will be declared 2:0 losers.[ads3]
This means that Asante Kotoko have been booted out of the CAF Champions League for failing to raise fifteen players for the game.
It also means Asante Kotoko have lost the two legged tie by 3:0 after losing the first leg by 0:1 in Ghana.[ads4]
