Ghana Premier League newbies, Accra Lions FC have appointed English trainer James Nicholas Francis as caretaker coach.
This comes following the sacking of German coach, Rainer Kraft who guided the team to the Ghana top-flight league after emerging leaders of the division One League zone III last season.[ads2]
“Rainer Kraft had a very successful spell in his two years as Head Coach of Accra Lions Football Club that was crowned with winning the Division One Championship and gaining the Ghana Premier League promotion this year,” Chief Executive Officer of the club, Nana Obiri Yeboah confirmed.
“We are very grateful for everything he has done to develop our club forward and wish him well for the future. Assistant Coach James Francis will take over as Caretaker Coach with immediate effect,” he added.[ads3]
Nicholas Francis has been working with Rainer Kraft since June and will be in charge when Accra Lions face Karela United at the CAM Park.
Meanwhile, Accra Lions currently sit eleventh on the Ghana Premier League log with seven points after six matches.[ads5]
