The Black Queens will take on the Lionesses of England in a high-profile international friendly on 2nd December 2025, following an agreement between the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and the England Football Association.
Fresh from reaching the semi-finals of the 2024 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (WAFCON), Ghana’s women’s national team are determined to build on that achievement and cement their place among Africa’s elite.
The clash forms part of Ghana’s preparations for upcoming international competitions, including the 2026 WAFCON qualifiers. Facing England, the reigning European champions and one of the highest-ranked sides in world football, is expected to provide the Queens with a stern test that will refine the team’s quality and resilience.
Head coach Kim Lars Björkegren has described the fixture as a golden opportunity to gauge the squad’s progress, expose players to world-class opposition, and identify areas for improvement.
The Black Queens will head into the encounter motivated to deliver a strong performance—not only to measure their readiness but also to demonstrate the significant strides Ghana continues to make in women’s football on the global stage.
