Asante Kotoko stalwart defender Abdul Ganiyu has been ruled out of the team’s CAF Champions League campaign.
The 22-year old sustained a knee injury during the team’s training session at the Adako Jachie training complex last week.
According to reports, the towering defender has been ruled out for the rest of the season, which means he will not be available for the CAF Champions League campaign.
He has joined Richard Senanu and Maxwell Baakoh at the Asante Kotoko treatment room.
Ganiyu has been a key figure for the Porcupine Warriors since joining from fellow Premier League outfit Karela United last season.
He was a pillar at the Asante Kotoko defense during the last season’s CAF Confederation Cup campaign and in the just ended NC Special Competitions.
Abdul Ganiyu featured in all the Asante Kotoko matches in the CAF Confederation Cup last season.
